Free Back Pack Day in Holton

Today I joined Jeanne Pezet, from the County Clerks office at Free Back Pack Day in Holton.
What a fun event, kids and young adults were lined up out the door when we arrived and we were early.
Holton Fire Department was on site with trucks and the Sheriff Posse was on horse back, kids were already in the inflatable bounce house and the fun was underway.

Inside Jeanne had bags from the Muskegon County Visitors Bureau and we had information on the services available at the clerks office as well as the upcoming Free Shred Event and the Muskegon Astrological Society Open House.

Not only did the school age kids get back packs, but they had school supplies inside and booths were set up with information for kids and parents. The Girl Scouts had a table, the food pantry, free haircuts, health screen for hearing and sight, crafts, free bibles, and many other free items for the kids and the big kids too.

Thank You to the Holton United Methodist Church for hosting today's event.

Here is a look at some of the fun we had today.

I will have to confess, I love being your County Commissioner,
and the people of our County is the reason, it really is all about them.
